Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy (neoadjuvant or adjuvant radiation therapy) is of significant value in the pre– and post-treatment of some specific gastrointestinal tumors. It is administered alone or in combination with chemotherapy (multi-modal tumor therapy) before or after an operation of the gastrointestinal tract (i.e. esophagus, stomach, rectum). Compared to an operation alone, this helps achieve a measurable improvement in the results of therapy relevant to the patient. Radiation therapy alone is also of significant clinical value in the containment of the growth of tumors in inoperable diseases. We have tight cooperation with the group practice for radiation therapy and radiation oncology at the Klinikum Schwabing, Dr. med. Claudia Hörl, Mr. Albrecht Glück, Dr. med. Klaus Becker, Dr. med. Axel Siefert and Dr. med. Erika Skulina.
